Minimalist Inspired Wedding
After our engagement photo session we were really looking forward to this fun loving couple's wedding day.
The bride is an architect and loves design. Less is more was the theme, starting with her elegant white wedding gown. The sheer lace detailing on her gown was simply beautiful.
Keeping with the minimalist style, the bride and her bridesmaids opted for no jewellery. With some subtle creative touches, the girls were visions of old Hollywood glamour.
The only colour to be seen on the bridal party's attire, wedding cake and decor was blue (I believe the correct term is navy blue). This complimented the picturesque surroundings of their wedding venue to a tee, the blues of the cloudless clear sky and Sydney harbour...
This couple went all out with the DIY too!
The wedding gown was designed by the bride and handmade by her mum from scratch. I repeat, it was made by the bride's mum! She runs a reputable boutique tailor in Dee Why and it's definitely worth a visit if you are looking to get your wedding dress altered.
Amongst other DIY elements were:
- backdrop of blue and white paper handmade pom poms
- individual table numbers painted on small canvases
- bouquets and button holes, and
- a personalised feedback questionnaire with funky typography
