I’m the emotional, obsessive and romantic half of Tinker Photography.
Having become recently engaged myself, I have realised how truly overwhelming and scary wedding planning can be. There’s so much information available on the Internet that I now have enough ideas to plan over a dozen weddings and I would like to share those ideas with you.
Deciding on the style or overall "feel" of your wedding is perhaps the most important first step. I knew instinctively that mine would be a pixie-inspired whimsical and ethereal wedding. As you may have already guessed, the name “Tinker” was partly born out of my fascination with pixies.
When I first told my friends, I received some bewildering looks...think Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream meets Twilight (no, I'm not a Twilight fan, really!).
What I love about this theme for an outdoor wedding is that it allows you to utilise the beauty of nature itself. There are so many ways you can create an enchanted pixie hollow for your special day - paper lanterns, tea light candles, hanging jars filled with wild flowers, leather bound books and rustic furniture are just some of the decoration ideas that comes to mind…
The Bohemian trendsetter Kate Moss was the epitome of the pixie bride at her own wedding to Jamie Hince last July and proved that pixies are not just for children.
